Mike Wall – Chief Executive Officer & Executive Chairman

Mike joined the Amplidata board on November 2nd 2011, and will be providing strategic insight and guidance to drive the company’s expansion in the market.. He was one of the founding members of the management team that developed Intel’s highly successful storage business He also served as the CEO of DICOM Grid, one of the FASTech 50’s most innovative technology startups and he held a position at Cray Research as the general manager responsible for operations in North America. Mike was CEO at Atempo, where he also held a position on the board of directors for three years.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook as well as a master’s in management sciences from Averill Harriman College for Urban and Policy Sciences at SUNY Stony Brook.

Wim De Wispelaere – Chief Technology Officer & Founder

Wim De Wispelaere is a Storage Veteran who has been involved in the development and launch of several innovative products and technologies. Before starting Amplidata, Wim was Director of Product Management at Symantec (Veritas), responsible for the introduction of deduplication (NetBackup PureDisk) and disk backup technologies in the market-leading Veritas NetBackup product. The deduplication technology had been developed at DataCenter Technolgies where Wim was leading product management and pre-sales.

Kristof De Spiegeleer – Founder

Kristof De Spiegeleer is a dedicated serial entrepreneur with an impressive track record in data center optimization technology. Kristof’s first big success dates back to 2005, when Veritas/Symantec acquired his de-duplication technology venture DataCenter Technologies, and his hosting company Dedigate was aqcuired by Terremark. Later successes include Hostbasket that is now part of Telenet and Q-layer, which built the very first IAAS platform, and was acquired by Sun.

Kristof is currently active in about a dozen technology startups, including Amplidata, Racktivity, Aserver, DacenTec. Through Incubaid, Kristof’s incubation center, he aims at providing management experience, facilities and a rich network to technology startups. His youngest initiative is the Green Unbreakable Cloud Initiative (GUCI), which offers customers the most innovative portfolio of Cloud and Green Computing technologies.

Kristof is a respected visionary, surrounded by a team of data center veterans and experienced software engineers while his track record has given him high credibility and long standing relations with international VC’s and industry leaders.

Dominique Pitteloud – Endeavour Vision

Dominique is a Partner at Endeavour Vision and has been working in venture capital since 2001. Dominique focuses on investments in the internet, communication and cloud computing sectors, specializing in wireless technologies. He has led or co-led investments in Kobojo, Amplidata, CommProve, where he is a Director, as well as Staccato Communications, Media Lario Technologies, Sphera, eProject, Native Networks (sold to Alcatel) and M7 (sold to BEA). Dominique is also an independent Director with Sequans Communications (SQNS), a prior investment of Vision Capital, and an Advisor with ASSIA, a leader in DSL management solutions.

Prior to venture capital, Dominique was Vice President of Marketing at 8×8, a Silicon Valley telecommunication company. Dominique joined 8×8 in 1999 as part of the acquisition of Odisei, a telecommunication start-up from Sophia Antipolis, France. Prior to Odisei, Dominique held various engineering and management positions at Logitech, a market leader in computer peripherals, including Vice President of the scanner and video camera business units.

Dominique received a BSc degree in Telecommunications from the School of Business and Engineering Vaud, Switzerland and a MBA from Santa Clara University, USA.

Frank Maene – Big Bang Ventures

Frank joined Hummingbird Ventures as a Managing Partner during the capital raising process, in November 2000, which led to the Big Bang Ventures I Fund. Frank has many years of high-tech operational experience, in both executive sales and general management positions, with software and services companies in Europe and the US.

Frank currently serves on the board of directors of Amplidata, PINS and Racktivity. He was the chairman of DataCenterTechnologies (acquired by Symantec) and Q-layer (acquired by Sun Microsystems) and a director on the board of Avinity (acquired by ActiveVideo Networks).

Prior to joining Hummingbird Ventures, Frank was CEO of ExpertEyes, Inc. in Silicon Valley. He identified and secured investment and co-sourcing opportunities for US software and services companies’ European expansion, developed their operations plans, and evaluated funding options. In 1998, Frank was CEO of Syfact International, where he was responsible for spinning off a team of developers from a systems integration company and creating an independent software company. In 1995, Frank created the Benelux distributor for Gentia Software. He sold the distributor to Gentia Software in 1997. Prior to Gentia, Frank worked as Sales Manager for Comshare Belgium/Luxembourg, after starting his career as consultant with the Cap Gemini Group.Frank holds a Master’s degree in Applied Economics and Accountancy from the University of Gent, Belgium
