BitSpread
BitSpread is a revolutionary new way of storing data on disks that increases scalability and availability by a factor 10,000. The patent pending BitSpread Codec divides objects and encodes them in redundant data blocks which are distributed and stored across a wide selection of disks. The original object can be reconstructed with any sufficient subset of the stored data blocks, making it possible to access the data even if disks or servers would fail or in case full racks or a data center becomes unavailable.
